Two in two for Tame

NSWIS paddler Lachlan Tame has won the second medal of his 2015 ICF World Cup campaign after another brilliant performance alongside Ken Wallace.

Following a gold medal just days ago in Portugal, Tame and Wallace teamed in the men’s K2 1000m to win silver at the most recent event in Germany. The Aussie duo was close to making it a second gold in as many weeks before finishing in 3:20.336, less than one second from gold.

In other events, fellow NSWIS athletes Jo Brigden-Jones and Naomi Flood narrowly missed out on bronze after finishing fourth in the women’s K4 500m with Bernadette Wallace and Alana Nicholls. Brigden-Jones and Flood then went on to finish sixth with the same crew in the women’s K4 200m, before finishing sixth as a pair in the women’s K2 500m.

Rounding out the results from Germany were Murray Stewart, David Smith and Riley Fitzsimmons, with the trio finishing fifth in the K4 1000m, Stewart finishing fifth in the men’s K1 1000m and Fitzsimmons taking ninth as part of the Australian men’s K4 200m crew.

The final World Cup of the series takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark from 29-31 May.
