Swift start for NSW

The NSW Swifts started their season on the right note with a resounding 60-40 victory over last season’s champions, the Adelaide Thunderbirds in the 2011 ANZ Championship.

It was the Swifts from start to finish in the season opener as they raced to a 15-10 first quarter lead. New recruit Mo’onia Gerrard played a stellar role in the defensive line which set up attackers Catherine Cox and Susan Pratley.

The match continued in the same fashion as the Swifts piled on the pressure at both ends, with Pratley eventually scoring 27 points from 27 attempts to begin their season in the same fashion as last year.
