Matsuo on target for Nanjing

Swimmer Ami Matsuo has confirmed her spot on the Australian Youth Olympic Games team following a ‘100 Days to Go’ celebration in Sydney.

Matsuo will spearhead the eight strong Australian swimming team when the Youth Olympic Games kick off on 16 August in Nanjing, China.

The 17 year old won a relay silver medal at last year’s senior swimming world championships in Barcelona, Spain, and will look to use the Youth Olympic experience to further her chances of competing at the Olympic Games.

NSWIS coach Justin Rothwell was named as one of two coaches on the team.
